While I was listening to the catholic mass in the Lambramani chapel, the priest said the Apostles' creed.
My mind went to the years when I was 8 , 9, 10 years old. My mom used to send me to church to the "catecismo" every Saturday evening to learn the prayers and basic doctrine of the catholic Church.
What impressed me most were the Lord's Prayer and the Apostles' Creed.
Even now that I am 60 years old and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I still believe almost in every word of the Apostles' creed.
"I believe in God the Father (Matthew 6:9), Almighty (D.C. 121:4), Maker of heaven and earth". God revealed to Moses: "And by the word of my power, have I created them, which is mine Only Begotten Son, who is full of grace and truth. And worlds without number have I created; and I also created them for mine own purpose; and by the Son I created them, which is mine Only Begotten." (Moses 1:32,33).
"And in Jesus Christ,( 1 Corinthians 8:6) (my Saviour and my Redeemer), his Only Begotten Son (1 John4:9), our Lord;"
"Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost (Luke 1:35) (1 Nephi 11:18), born of the Virgin Mary;" Nephi wrote: "And I looked and beheld the virgin again, bearing a child in her arms." (1 Nephi 11:20).
"Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified (Matthew 20:19), dead and buried; He descended into hell (Hades, Seol, spirit world);"
"The third day he rose again from the dead (Matthew 28:5,6,7);"
"He ascended into heaven (Acts 1:11), and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty (Mark 16:19);"
"From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead (Revelation 20:12);"
"I believe in the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19);"
"I believe in the holy catholic church (I do not believe this); the communion (Ephesians 2:19) of the saints (Ephesians 4:12);"
"The forgiveness of sins (through the first principles and ordinances of the gospel: faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, and the gift of the Holy Ghost, and by keeping all the commandments of God; by the power of the atonemnet of our Lord Jesus Christ);"
"The resurrection of the flesh (1 Corinthians 15:21,22 - 41,42);"
"And the life everlasting (eternal life) (John 3:16). Amen."
