With a Voice of Thunder

Last Sunday, in the Sunday School class, we talked about Alma when an angel appeared to him and told him to cease his evil course. It was an interesting class. And I shared the following with the class:

"I remember years ago Angela and I were talking about one of our daughters. Angela didn't like my words, and when I explained my point of view we had this dialog:

Angela: But you should not raise your voice.

Me: How do you want me to speak?

Angela: Whith "the tongue of angels" (2 Nephi 32:2)

Me: How's that?

Angela: In a still small voice.

Me: Yes, but angels also speak "as it were with a voice of thunder" (Mosiah 27:11) when necessary.

Poor Alma. Could you imagine Alma hearing the angel's voice as it were with a voice of thunder?
And the earth shaking because of that powerful voice? I am sure anybody would fall to earth as dead.
