For Father's Day, Luis gave me a DVD with part of an old video I video taped years ago when my children were just little kids. He took a picture of the Gameros' coat of arms I created years ago as cover for the DVD.
I remember a family home evening we had in Arequipa that I told the family it was a good idea to start a motto for the Gameros that could guide us to good principles during our lives. That family night we created the motto: "Amor, Servicio y Obediencia", That is: "Love, Service and Obedience."
The Gameros' coat of arms has angel Moroni on the top as in the temples "All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye." (Isaiah 18:3).
I also drew the star of David, as you can see in the Assembly Hall in the Temple Square in Salt Lake City.
It has the heraldic drawings of the coat of arms of Arequipa.
In the left quadrant, a figure of the Sao Paulo Temple where we were sealed for time and eternity. In the right quadrant, a figure of the Misti volcano and the Chili river in Arequipa. I also signed my name in there: Hugo Gamero.
And in the bottom, the Gameros motto: Amor, Servicio y Obediencia.
To draw the shape of the shield I used a square and a compass.
