Lake Powell

This past weekend we went to Lake Powell: Veronica, Alejandra, Angela and me.

Holli's family live close to Lake Powell, by the mark 13, in theSouth 89 road.

We first visited the Brodericks' home, and then we went to the lake. We had to cross it in a boat.

We camped by the shore. Angela enjoys camping a lot. Luis, Holli an Chloe were in a tent close to us.

On Saturday, we were swimming several times because it was really hot there.

All the Brodericks came with some friends. They were driving their waverunners and having a lot of fun. Holli is an expert with those waverunners and the boat.

I tried to fish but I couldn't catch anything, even when the fish were jumping very close.

Alejandra, Luis and three more girls swam to the other shore where we were at. So I said: I also can do it, and began to swim. I couldn't get even half way. I was exhausted, so I began to swim back, but trying to go to the closer shore I was in the deepest area.
While swimming I tried to stand up three times but I couldn't find ground. So I kept swimming until I finally could get it, almost dead.

I rememeber when I was 17, or 25 or 35 years old I was able to swim past the biggest waves in El Conto beach back in Arequipa, but I forgot that I am 60 now.

In the evening it was too windy, so we made the decision to go back to the Brodericks' home. It is a house in the middle of the huge desert.
We went to Page to eat.

It was a nice vacation. Alejandra and Veronica got a terrible sunburn. They were red, shrimp red.
